Dell released their 2021 line-up of S-series gaming monitors, it's a bit weird since they do own Alienware and typically release it under that name. Oh well!

Check out Dell's 2021 line of gaming monitors below!

What are the IO ports in the the s3222 and the s2722?

S3422DWG needs a proper review if you guys get time. I've been running it on an nVidia card and get flickering. To be fair, it is not Gsync compatible so that is fair it has some issues. What isn't is, if you set the refresh rate to anything higher than stock you just get ghosting everywhere, black smear. It is a great gaming monitor, if you turn off all the gaming features.
An in depth review might inspire Dell to do a firmware update to improve it as much as they can within the hardware limitations.
Also worth noting, whilst I'm happy to give it a pass that my nVidia card isn't working nicely with the AMD Freesync, some users have reported the exact same issue with AMD cards.
Games tested - ESO has plenty of flickering in loading screens and some in game
Skyrim - Some flickering present in game, but turn the Refresh to 'Super fast' or 'Extreme' and walk through Whiterun, specifically strafe while looking at wooden posts, and you will see the worst smear ever.
I've also tested this on another S3422DWG that my brother purchased, exact same. We have no dead pixels or backlight issues, and we got them at a great price, so we're keeping them and concluded its a fault of the monitor, hoping they address this fault via firmware.
Ultimately, cannot recommend gamers buy the 'gaming' monitor S3422DWG. If you get it at a discount and want the real estate, and game on it from time to time it'll serve you well.

After I watch this video, I actually bought the ultrawide one. It is good in general, but if you want to buy this monitor, please notice there is very serious ghosting when you enable the HDR on this monitor and move around texts. However, the ghosting is not very noticeable when playing games with "desktop HDR" or "DisplayHDR 400" mode enabled. Though I am only playing very few games(GGST, Nioh 2), so don't quote me on that.
It is my first time buying an HDR monitor, I am not sure whether it is common or not.

I have looked at the Dell S3222DGM, seems to be a downgrade from the previous 2019 model. For example brightness down to 350 nits from 400, DP Port 1.2 instead of 1.4. They also took out all the extra USB ports. This Monitor has no USB ports at all.
Still waiting for proper reviews but seems like a worse model compared to the one from 2 years ago. What a shame...

VA Panel = NO, 32 inches at 1440p is also a no... And 27 inches and 32 inches curved is a HELL NO! and No 4k panel in your gaming lineup? Facepalm... C'mon Dell it's 2021. As far as I'm concerned the only monitor I would even think about reccomending is the 1080p Ips @25 inches. The rest of them.... To the trash bins of history you go. And no REAL HDR with Full array local dimming zones. Some one call Dell and tell them 2019 wants their monitors back.

What's funny is, TN STILL has faster pixel response than 90% of IPS monitors. Don't care if its IPS, FAST IPS, or NANO IPS, TN still beats 90% of them in pixel response. Sure TN color isn't great, viewing angles suck. But when it comes to PERFORMANCE. TN still king.
SADLY, I don't want any of these. I want an OLED gaming monitor. OLED has an insanely faster pixel response compared to TN, making it the fastest panel tech we currently have available. Then you get insane color accuracy. And you also get 1,000,000:1 static contrast. IPS and VA monitors are limited to between 1000:1 to 3500:1 static contrast ratios. Add the OLED style black frame insertion, and you end up with a panel technology that would literally make TN/VA/IPS useless.... mainly why OLED hasn't taken over monitor space yet. Because the moment OLED exists, every single monitor on the market ends up useless. From a business standpoint, you make 4 new monitors a year maybe more, and you release ONE OLED monitor for a fair price to gamers. Now all of those monitors you made, wont sell. Useless. And if they wont sell, you can't profit....
SAMSUNG was in the news saying they were done with VA technology and were moving to OLED for monitors.... so far, this hasn't happened. They just announced their updated Odyssey line up to the g5/g7 in flat panel versions for 2021. Which means, we should see their OLED gaming monitors in 2022.... supposedly in very very recent news, they are showing off the OLED test panels to investors and other monitor brands.... so maybe once that goes through, 2022 will be the king year for monitor upgrades.
NO, burn in is NOT an issue. All the low intelligence morons on reddit crying about burn in, have it because they ABUSE their OLED televisions. They were LIED TO by other morons online claiming "the best color accuracy and hdr is when you max out your brightness" so they go into their tv settings, jack their brightness to 100% and then complain they get premature burn in. Brightness does NOT effect color accuracy. I can literally right now tune my monitor to 80 nits, and then slide the brightness up to 100nits and recheck for color accuracy, and its the same. Granted this is a test on an LCD monitor (VA panel) but still. Most cell phones now are OLED and no one is getting burn in unless they jack their brightness to 100% and turn off auto brightness. Again, its THEIR FAULT that their products are dying faster than they should. Meanwhile the rest of us have no issue. My brother has been using his OLED Sony A8H Television as his gaming monitor, playing games like World of Warcraft which has TONS of static UI elements like having bags open, the skill bar, the top left health bar and character portrait. And yet, he has NOT had ANY burn in. His brightness is at about 30/100 setting on the TV. You don't need max brightness. And when you look at HDR, CONTRAST is the bigger requirement for HDR. Look at movie theaters. Typical non HDR theaters are 60 nits brightness. IMAX HDR is 80 nits. Dolby HDR is 108 nits. IF 1000 nits was required for proper HDR, why hasn't movie theaters changed to support this standard? Because brightness does not effect HDR. Look at the ASUS MiniLED monitor that people are eyeing up, 4k 144hz and FALD mini-LED backlight with 1152 lighting zones.... 1400 peak nits. And yet, its static contrast is still only 1000:1.... shouldn't more brightness mean more contrast? Sure they rate dynamic contrast at 100,000:1.... but Static is the true show of quality. OLED with its STATIC contrast of 1,000,000:1 and "infinite:1" dynamic contrast.... yeah, OLED is king. And brightness doesn't matter. Brightness is there only as an adjustment so you can actually SEE the screen. For example, your cellphone at 30% brightness indoors can be seen no issue. Go outside middle of the day, and the screen looks like its turned off even though its on. Because there isn't enough brightness to overcome ambient light. So auto brightness jacks your brightness to 100% when outside. So you can see the screen. Brightness is only there to see the screen. In a super dark room, run 600 nits or 1000 nits on your monitor if capable. Within 30 minutes you will get eye strain and within an hour you will get headaches. My buddy who has no blinds on his windows, or curtains, has to run his monitor at about 250 nits to overcome ambient light during the day. AT NIGHT, that 250 nits gives him headaches and eye strain. Nowhere near 600 nits for HDR600 specification.... Now he turns his brightness down at night to stop those headaches and eye strain. Again, brightness is only there to overcome ambient light so you can see the screen. I am able to tune my monitors to about 80 nits, and I can see the screen no problem. Turn around, and google the sRGB color specification. It was developed at 80 nits.... that's right, color accuracy at 80 nits. So much for needing 1000 nits or more.... its bullshit. So OLED burn in, is NOT an issue anymore.

Its funny how you say you are not competitive and would pick the 21:9 over the 16:9.... I remember back when people were still mostly on 4:3 and I had 16:10, and I could see more on my left and right. People thought I was wallhacking because I could see them. In CS:GO yes, 16:10 or 16:9 over 4:3 is a huge advantage. 21:9 not so much. However in more open map games like Destiny 2, Call of Duty Warzone, or Battlefield, having that 21:9 gives you even more of an advantage over 4:3, and a light advantage over 16:9.... 32:9 is even more of an advantage over the lower aspect ratios.

Dell has one of the worst, if not the worst, warranty programs. Most of the times, if your monitor needs to be replaced, all they can do is send you a refurbished unit. Even if the monitor is technically brand new (a few weeks old) and the reason for replacing it is a technical problem that could not be caused by the end user and is supposedly covered by warranty.
My S2417DG one day decided to randomly turn itself off and on again, and it seemed just fine after that. When I shutdown my computer and turned off the monitor, next day when I turned it on, it was stuck in burn-in mode (color cycling between red, green, blue and white). Searched everywhere on the internet for a fix, including Dell forums, and there were lots of monitors with the same problem (not just this model), and again, all they could do was to replace the monitor with a refurbished unit. For those who don't know, burn-in mode can be enabled/disabled through a factory settings menu that requires a secret sequence of inputs to be accessed. Dell won't disclose those inputs and the sequences available on the internet didn't work for me. As you can imagine, many people, including me, were furious with this situation.
Ultimately, I decided to keep my monitor because I found that if I never turned off the monitor (just let it go to sleep/stand-by), the monitor wouldn't reset to burn-in mode again.
I would advise you to never buy from Dell. Even Linus confirmed that Dell is as shady as a company can be in his Secret Shopper series, and it's not just when talking monitors.
This has been my story, thanks for reading it. Feel free to ask questions.
    Hope you're all doing well!
